Tiny Trend Tremor: Umbrellas
Treehugger was on to something with their umbrella redesign contest. You can learn so much about umbrellas there, it's amazing! And so at the January edition of Maison & Objet, for some strange reason there were a series of umbrellas proposed for interiors. Don't they say that opening an umbrella inside is bad luck? Obviously for these producers, it isn't. If you're superstitious, you'll want to skip this motif! (I am superstitious-- I don't say the R- word...opting for precipitation instead!) Anthologie Quartett proposes upside down stacked umbrellas as a hanging lamp.
Missoni Home incorporated the past few seasons' love of fringe onto its lampshade. You get the wet-look without the precipitation...
Wait, more umbrellas inside? This can't be a coincidence...(producer unnamed)
Pablo Pardo has designed a smart floor lamp (also in table lamp version) as well. Available through Design Public (photo from Design Public)
But if it really is dreary outside, you can make your own from cocktail umbrellas! Thanks to HGTV.
