Women to Watch 2007: The Designers - A Fantastic Four
In the introduction to this series, the women behind the scenes in design were introduced. Here, presented in alphabetical order, are the first four women in the Women to Watch series which will be presented over the coming weeks.
Louise Campbell / Louise Campbell Studio (Copenhagen)
Louise Campbell studio, founded in 1996, has
a knack for creating trend-setting designs which jump off the magazine pages at you. Perhaps this is because one of her design mantras
is always start from scratch. Her Prince Chair in 2002 for Danish company
Hay set off the ‘laser-cut’ trend that dominated interiors in 2006. She won an Elle DECO International Design
Award for furniture design in 2005-6, for her Very Round Chair, Zanotta was
awarded the Good Design Award in 2006, and she was awarded the wallpaper*
“Interiors Maverick Award” as well. In
2007 her lighting collaborations with Louis Poulsen continue. She will present a new foot stool to
accompany the Prince chair, new flatware, and a handful of new projects that
will spill over into 2008! (Pictured below: Very Round, Zanotta; Campbell Pendant, Louis Poulsen)
