A handbag for the woman who prefers to stay home.

Mixed media artist intrigued with fashion and interior design Brit Debra Franses Bean creates handbags in a range of eye-catching primary colors and pastels, sometimes transparent, often lightweight, almost always trapezoidal.  The handle is rigid.  It’s not quite a clutch, it’s definitely not a shoulderbag.  If you’re the type of lady who carries everything around but the kitchen sink, although DFBean’s bags are a little smaller than your average lunchbox (20cm X 28cm), this is not the bag for you.  If you can make it with just that bare essential you need to get you home safely, then this is what you need.  The only catch?  You'd have to give the contents to commission Ms. Bean before she casts the bag.  Hers are hand-made, one-off sculptures cast in resin, steel, or whatever gets the point across.  Don’t worry, the colors are easily coordinated and absolutely fabulous, and will complement any outfit or décor.  If you’d prefer textiles to handbags, you can have both.  Try The Naked Wall , or read an interview with Debra about the genesis of the handbag sculptures.
